"And Just Like That" may be forgetting its own characters' backstories.
The "Sex and the City" revival, which sees three of four leading ladies reprising their iconic roles, has been on thin ice with its audience since its debut season, drawing criticism from haphazard plot lines and even more haphazard headwear (we're looking at you, Carrie).
The discontent flared once again this week when eagle-eyed fans noticed a plot hole involving friend to the main cast Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker). In an episode airing July 3, Wexley calls Charlotte (Kristin Davis) to inform her that her father has just died suddenly from a stroke.

Fans were quick to point out, however, that during Season 1, Parker's character revealed that her father had died the previous year. Stitching together the clips on social media to point out the recycled plotline, viewers voiced disbelief, with one social media user writing: "Has 'And Just Like That' completely forgot they killed Lisa's dad off already?"

To add insult to injury, fans also noted that after announcing his death in Season 1, the show seemingly ignored the fact to bring him on as a guest star (played by Billy Dee Williams) for an episode in Season 2, only to kill him off again in Season 3.
"Don't forget he was already passed in season 1, and came for dinner in season 2, now he is gone again… not everyone gets that kind of second chance," one user quipped on TikTok.

"Carrie will be having dinner with Big next episode," another wrote, referencing Mr. Big, Carrie's one-time love interest who was killed off during the first season. Chris Noth, the actor playing him, was accused of sexual assault around the time the onscreen death occured.
The cast, however, is mourning Lisa's father's death (the second one) for real.
"I grew up (watching) Billy Dee Williams, so I was very sad in real life that we wouldn't do any more work together in this series," Sarah Jessica Parker told USA TODAY in a recent interview.
