A beloved Food Network star has written a heartbreaking post about his "chef brother" who has transitioned to hospice care.
Jet Tila, star of Guy's Grocery Games, Tournament of Champions and BBQ Brawl, has a dear friend and colleague named Tad Weyland (pictured above with Jet and Jet's wife Allison) whom Tila calls his "culinary brother."
Unfortunately, in late May, Weyland was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
At the time, Tila wrote on his Instagram, "The disease has spread to both his colon and liver, and he’s also facing mid-stage kidney failure. It's aggressive, and it’s taken a toll on his ability to even stand or walk without pain. Right now, he’s in a critical fight just to gain enough strength to begin chemotherapy."

He set up a GoFundMe to help Weyland and his family with "medical treatment, recovery, and essential living expenses" so that they could "focus on what truly matters—healing, not hospital bills."
Tila was "blown away" by his followers' generosity because the GoFundMe was able to raise nearly $90,000 for Weyland.
But now, a month later, Weyland has taken a turn for the worse.
"With heavy hearts, it was time to stop trying to fight the cancer and time to transition to hospice care," writes Tila in a new Instagram post.

"Thanks to all of your contributions, we’re able to create a beautiful, peaceful space where Tad can be surrounded by friends, family, and comfort. Because of you, we’ve been able to give our friend the kind of care and dignity he deserves in this chapter of his journey.
"Since the move, Tad has become more tired and lethargic. He’s sleeping quite a bit now but is still able to respond with short answers when awake. His family is arriving tonight as planned — Missy and Traci are flying in, Colleen is already here, and many more are coming to wrap him in love from every direction.
"Thank you for being part of this amazing family and for helping Tad fight the toughest battle of his life. And although we are near the end, you have made it possible for him to be comfortable, cared for, and not alone. That’s a gift we can never thank you enough for," writes Tila.
In the comments, Tila's fellow Food Network stars have left their condolences, including Chef Dara Yu, Chef Michele Ragussis, journalist Lisa Ling, the Seoul Sausage food truck from the Great Food Truck Race, and Chef Krissy Lefebvre.
