Boy Meets World alums aren’t mincing words about a season 6 episode.
Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong and Will Friedle discussed the sixth episode of that season, titled “My Baby Valentine,” on the July 10 episode of their Boy Meets World rewatch podcast, Pod Meets World.
The Valentine’s Day-themed episode featured a storyline in which Cory (Ben Savage) attempts to throw his mom a baby shower while also ensuring that he doesn’t forget about his fiancée, Topanga (Fishel).
“It felt rushed. It felt weird,” Strong, 45, said of the episode from 1999.

“It just felt like a couple different episodes crammed into one. It was like, one about Cory's anxiety and Valentine's Day, and then it, like, really obviously doesn't become about that. And I don't know if he actually learned anything,” Strong continued. “It just felt kind of like a couple different episodes got crammed together and they just rushed this one out.”
Friedle, 48, then chimed in, saying the episode “wasn’t my favorite” — and also said that he just didn’t like how Cory’s character was written.

“I hated Cory, but I think you're supposed to,” Friedle said. “But he was just the worst version of Cory you'll ever see ever. It's just terrible.”
Fishel, 44, agreed, saying, “This is definitely the worst of the worst version of Cory I think we've ever seen consistently through an entire episode.”

She added, “So much so that the way he grabs Topanga's shoulder — and you can hear in my voice because I'm talking [...] — he grabs me by the shoulder and you can hear that there's enough force [...] that it changes the way the words are coming out of my mouth. Like, my breath changes. It's just it's not a good Cory."
“For the majority of season 6, it's been a lot of our favorite type of Cory,” she continued. “And then every now and then, they throw in an episode like this.”
The hosts didn’t have all bad things to say about the episode.
“I was way more invested in the Rachel and Jack storyline than I ever thought I would be,” Strong said, referring to the fact that Jack and Rachel — played by Matthew Lawrence and Maitland Ward respectively — decide to move in together and take their relationship to the next level. “I was like, ‘This is actually good. Matt’s great. [...] That's a storyline that I didn't even remember happening.”
“Bill was hysterical,” he added, referring to William Daniels, the actor who played Mr. Feeney.
“Hysterically funny,” Friedle agreed.
The former castmates have been candid about their dislike of certain elements of the show in the past. On the March 27 episode of the podcast, they addressed the season 6 episode "Hogs & Kisses," in which Fishel and Strong share a kiss.

“This episode is maybe the worst episode of television I've ever seen ever in my life," Fishel said. “It's terrible. There's not one redeeming quality other than Ben.”
Fishel added that this was the episode that she knew she was "done" with the show. "I checked my soul out of my body," she said.
