Weddings are all about celebrating love and family, but for one Lake Tahoe couple, that family wouldn't be complete without their dog, Boo.
When it came time to plan their big day, they knew they wanted to honor their four-legged best friend in a way that no one would ever forget.
On June 21, as guests filed into the reception, they were greeted by a sight that stopped everyone in their tracks. Next to the couple's elegant four-tier wedding cake stood a life-size, sugar-crafted replica of Boo, complete with textured "fur" frosting and a custom collar. The cake artist even positioned Boo's paws as if he was about to dive right into the celebration himself.
For Elsa Boscarello, the wedding photographer capturing the day's events, it was a moment she'll never forget. Her "jaw literally hit the ground," Boscarello told Newsweek. "I've never seen a life-sized dessert replica of someone's pet, until now…The element of surprise made it even more fun."
Boscarello, who has photographed weddings for more than a decade, says she's seen plenty of creative cakes, but nothing quite like this. "I had no idea this would be part of [the wedding]," she explained.
The moment was too good not to share, so Boscarello posted a video of the cake on TikTok. The internet quickly fell in love as she captioned the video: "If you don't have a life-size cake of your dog on your wedding day, do you even love them?"
Guests at the wedding were equally charmed. According to Boscarello, "It was the first thing they saw when they entered the reception, and a line quickly formed as everyone took turns snapping photos with Boo."
The cake became an instant icebreaker, sparking laughter, conversation, and plenty of selfies. "Guests were obsessed with the cake," she said.

For the couple, it was a way to make sure their beloved pup was part of the festivities, even if he couldn't walk down the aisle himself. As for the taste, Boscarello admits to the outlet that she didn't get to try a slice, but judging by the reactions, it was a success on every level.
