Kristofer Buckle, makeup artist to stars like Mariah Carey, Blake Lively, Lindsay Lohan and more, is having a transformation of his own — and he's taking his followers along for the ride.
Buckle posted on Instagram between June 23 and June 26 to share each step of his plastic surgery experience, down to the surgeon he tapped to work on his face. He also gave a look at the healing process and a rundown of each cosmetic procedure performed on his face.
The journey began with a video of Buckle sitting down with New York City-based plastic surgeon Dr. David Rosenberg.
"I looked at everyone's work in Hollywood and I see it close up out of makeup, out of filters, and the best work, you do," he told the surgeon while sitting in a consultation room. "If I was going to have something done to my face, you being the one to do it, would be the greatest day ever."
Buckle explained that his main concerns were his sagging neck and face skin, as well as his eyebrows drooping. Dr. Rosenberg said that he planned to address Buckle's concerns through a deep plane neck and face lift, small chin implant and an endoscopic brow lift. The procedures were Buckle's first time undergoing plastic surgery.
"I can't wait for you guys to see the whole process because I want to demystify all of this stuff for you and I want to be really up front and show you all of it," Buckle concluded his video with Dr. Rosenberg.

In the video's caption, he continued, "@drdavidrosenberg is going to perform the same magic on me as he's done on the most famous faces in entertainment. I am sharing my entire experience because if this is something that interests you my journey should be insightful. Plastic surgery isn't something everyone wants to do, but if it is you want to be in the most talented experienced and professional hands."

The makeup artist's follow-up came on June 25 after going under the knife. He filmed a video of himself post-procedure getting his bandages removed to reveal scars on his eyes, neck and temples.
"The first night was a little rough because the pain medicine, I didn't tolerate well and sleeping upright on your back with acid reflux...but it feels better," he said in the video as his nurse removes the bandages.
In the caption, he added that he was "bruised and swollen a bit" and thanked everyone "who has been reaching out to see if I'm ok."
The third update came on June 26, along with side-by-side photos showing his results 24 hours after his surgery.

"My before is evidence of how my makeup was able to hide. My after shows how @drdavidrosenberg has given me the freedom to reveal!"
Buckle's transparency with his plastic surgery procedures follows several celebrities who have come forward with details regarding their own cosmetic work.
Kylie Jenner is at the forefront of the trend. After a TikToker begged her to share the details of her breast augmentation, Jenner actually answered. "Help a girl out @Kylie Jenner ... i just want to know how to get them to sit like that, respectfully #fyp #foryou #kyliejenner #surgery," user Rachel Leary captioned her TikTok video.
"445 cc, moderate profile, half under the muscle!!!!! Silicone!!!" Jenner replied, dropping the name of Beverly Hills, Calif.-based plastic surgeon Garth Fisher, with an added, "Hope this helps lol."
Following Jenner's transparency, her mother, Kris Jenner, revealed that Dr. Fisher also was the doctor behind her first facelift.

Kris called the plastic surgeon "superstar class act" in the comments section of Dr. Fisher's June 4 Instagram post that praised the Kylie Cosmetics founder's honesty.
"You did my first facelift in 2011… 14 years ago!!!," she wrote, "and made it the most amazing experience ever and even gave us access to film so that others could get a peek inside what it's like and not be afraid."
In the time since, stars like Tisha Campbell, Sami Sheen, Kristin Cavallari and more have come forward with details about their plastic surgeries, which range from breast augmentations and lifts to mommy makeovers.
