Mandy Moore gets candid about the challenges she faced during the production of the series This Is Us and how her co-star helped her.
The singer-actress is the latest guest on the podcast Not Gonna Lie hosted by Jason Kelce’s wife, Kylie Kelce, where they discussed fashion trends, career and motherhood.
Among the topics discussed were the behind-the-scenes moments of the hit TV show.
Moore revealed an unforgettable story about playing a mother on screen and how it unexpectedly prepared her for the realities of becoming a mom herself in the future.
According to the “Candy” singer, who was in her early 30s at the time of filming, it was her first time changing diapers and swaddling a baby.

With the experience being completely new to her, she admitted she was clueless about the proper way to do it. Thankfully, her co-star Milo Ventimiglia took charge in guiding her through it.
“And so sweet Milo, who played my husband, had lots of nephews and nieces and had a ton of experience under his belt,” she said, adding, “He was actually showing me before we were on camera with these sweet babies.”
In the award-winning drama series, she portrayed Rebecca Pearson, a loving and devoted mother, while Ventimiglia’s character, Jack Pearson, is a deeply caring and selfless father determined to break the cycle of his own troubled past for the sake of his family.
Reflecting on the role, the 41-year-old actress then shared that the experience prepared her for motherhood and “came in handy just a few years later” when she had children of her own.
Moore is happily married to musician, Taylor Goldsmith, with whom she shares her three beautiful kids, sons Gus and Ozzie and daughter Louise.
