The Flipping El Moussas star, 37, shared a touching tribute to her Instagram Stories on July 9 in honor of Christina’s 42nd birthday. Along with a photo of the pair smiling side by side in a selfie, El Moussa reflected on their friendship in a heartwarming message in the caption.
“Happy birthday @christinahaack. It’s crazy how far we’ve come & most will never understand how we are friends,” she wrote. “I’m grateful for our relationship & our ability to rise above the noise! Cheers to you & can’t wait to celebrate you! Xo.”

El Moussa highlighting their unlikely friendship and “how far” the pair have come seemingly references the initial rough start to their relationship after the Selling Sunset alum tied the knot with husband Tarek El Moussa in October 2021.
Christina was first married to Tarek from 2009 to 2016. The exes then went through a messy divorce. The former couple share two children together — daughter Taylor, 14, and son Brayden, 9 — while Tarek and Heather welcomed their son Tristan, 2, in January 2023.
Now, the trio all work together as co-parents and costars on their house competition show, The Flip Off.

While Tarek and Christina had been on amicable terms before the HGTV series premiered in January, fans watched the exes have a tearful heart-to-heart in the premiere episode in which they addressed their mistreatment towards each other during their seven-year marriage.
Since the first season premiered, Christina and Heather appear to have gotten even closer, with Heather telling PEOPLE in June that she wants to team up with her husband’s ex if the series is renewed for season 2.
Season 1 saw Heather and Tarek compete against Christina, who was initially supposed to be paired with her third ex-husband Josh Hall, before their July 2024 split.
“I think that it would be super fun,” Heather told PEOPLE of the possible new team dynamic. “I think that people would love to see Christina and I working together and beating my husband because he thinks that he could beat us, especially in a design contest.”
She continued, “I'm so up for the challenge, and it'd be interesting to see how Christina and I work together and design together.”
In a previous interview with PEOPLE back in July 2024, Christina shed some light on her evolving relationship with Heather.
“We've actually been close for a while now,” Christina said of Heather at the time. “We communicate about the kids all the time. She's an amazing stepmom — the kids love her so much.”

While Christina noted that she, Tarek and Heather didn’t hang out as a group “by any means” at the time, the trio have come a long way since then.
Most recently, the group celebrated the 4th of July holiday together, months after they went on their first blended family vacation in April which Christina’s new boyfriend, Christopher Larocca, also attended.
