This July 4, the Montreux Jazz Festival witnessed a triumphant return: after a 14‑year hiatus, the Queen of Funk herself lit up the stage on opening night, delivering a two-part spectacular that celebrated both her five‑decade career and the monumental legacy of her longtime collaborator, Quincy Jones.

Khan opened with a powerful setlist brimming with her most iconic hits—“Ain’t Nobody,” “I’m Every Woman,” and more—showcasing why she’s a ten‑time Grammy Award winner and one of R&B’s most enduring voices. Performing with the polished conviction of a seasoned superstar, she wound her way through decades of soul, funk, disco, and jazz, reminding the audience of her versatile artistry and deep musical roots.
