Ozzy Osbourne was at home enjoying the things he loves most in the days leading up to his death, a source tells PEOPLE.

Osbourne, 76, died on Tuesday, July 22, with his family, including wife Sharon, by his side.

“[Sharon’s] deepest hope was fulfilled, and this is her focus now,” the source says. “Ozzy’s final days were spent in England, surrounded by family, music and in the place he called home. He was in peace.”

The “Crazy Train” rocker married Sharon, 72, in 1982, and they shared daughters Aimee, 31, and Kelly, 40, and son Jack, 39. Osbourne was also dad to daughter Jessica, 45, and sons Louis, 50, and Elliot from his first marriage.

The musician’s death came just 17 days after he performed his final concert with Black Sabbath at England’s Villa Park, a swan song he’d been planning for months.

“That show meant everything,” the source says. “It brought his career full circle.”

During the July 5 concert, Osbourne sat on a bat-themed throne with a skull design, as his 2003 Parkinson’s diagnosis affected his ability to stand and walk, and he also suffered complications from a fall in 2019. He performed five songs, including “Crazy Train” and “Mama I’m Coming Home.”

In the months leading up to the show, rocker-turned-reality TV star spoke about the ways in which he was preparing to get back out on stage.

“All I can say is I’m giving 120 percent. If my God wants me to do the show, I’ll do it,” he said on his SiriusXM show Ozzy Speaks in May. “I haven’t done any physical work for the last seven [or so] years. By hook or by crook, I’m gonna make it there. I’ve got this trainer guy who helps people get back to normal. It’s hard going, but he’s convinced that he can pull it off for me. I’m giving it everything I’ve got.”

When asked by his co-host Billy Morrison whether he’d been stressing about the upcoming show, Osbourne said he was doing his best not to let nerves get to him.

“Sometimes, but what I do, if I start obsessing all the time, I’ll be insane by Friday, you know?” he replied. “So I’m just taking it one day at a time and when I do it one day at a time.”

Osbourne revealed in May that the concert was actually Sharon’s idea and was something she came up with to “give me a reason to get up in the morning.”

“You wake up the next morning and find that something else has gone wrong,” he told the Guardian of his health. “You begin to think this is never going to end.”

Still, he noted, “I’ll be up there, and I’ll do the best I can. So all I can do is turn up.”

Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis announced the death of their family patriarch in a statement obtained by PEOPLE on Tuesday, July 22.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” the statement read. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
