The big day is almost here -- McDonald’s Snack Wrap is back on menus this week!

On Tuesday, June 3, the fast food chain announced on social media that the fan-favorite food item will return to menus nationwide on Wednesday, July 10. The caption of the 16-slide carousel post last month read, “Got emotional typing this. snack wrap is back 07.10.25” and included a heartwarming message from McDonald's social media manager on the resilience of the Snack Wrap fans.

“I cheered you on from behind the screen and made it my mission to never stop fighting for you,” the message read. “I made 486 decks on ‘reasons why to bring back the Snack Wrap’ (i counted). You created a movement. A movement so powerful that you finally won.”

People Staffers Line Up to Test the New Snack Wraps

The Snack Wrap costs $2.99 and will come in two flavors, Spicy and Ranch. The PEOPLE team got a chance to test out the new and improved Snack Wrap ahead of its July 10 release. Staffers from across departments shared their thoughts on both flavor offerings.

"I remember eating these in the back of my mom's car when I was a kid and this just brought me all the way back," one editor said of the Ranch flavor. "The tortilla is extra chewy and not grilled, the ranch is warm and melts into the lettuce. And the chicken? Crispy and tender. No notes, we're so back."

"The tortilla was really fluffy and soft, the chicken plentiful with a peppery seasoning to the breading and the spicy sauce had a pleasant kick that satisfied me as a spice-lover but wouldn't be too hot for anyone spice-adverse," another staffer said, this time speaking of the Spicy flavor. "One [wrap] is a nice snack, 3-4 would be more of a meal."

Others called out the "cute" size of the menu item and called the "crunchy" chicken "really, really solid."

"McDonald's brought back a classic — and they delivered! It still has it's same signature taste, with the spicy version tasting just spicy enough to notice the heat," one editor said. "It's balanced with ranch dressing as well. You will def need more than one to really feel full, as it truly is a cute little snack."

Others reminisced on Snack Wraps of the past and waiting years for the item to make its return to menus.

"I used to dream of this day," one staffer said. "It tastes just how I remember it tasting."

McDonald's Snack Wrap first hit menus in the U.S. in 2006 and lasted a decade before being officially discontinued in 2016. After nearly a decade, the wait for fans is finally over.

"I used to eat these all the time when I was younger and it tastes exactly the same," another agreed.

One staffer even tried the Snack Wrap for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at how it tasted.

“It tastes phenomenal,” the staffer said. “I love it … I’m gonna buy more!”

Some even compared the Snack Wrap's return to that of NBA legend Michael Jordan.

"The Snack Wrap might be the single greatest return to glory since Michael Jordan came out of retirement in 1995," the staffer noted. "And Like Mike, the snack wrap is graceful and light, yet delivers a slam dunk of flavor from the garlic and ranch sauce."

Snack Wraps will be available for purchase in-restaurant, via drive-thru, and on the McDonald’s app, including during late-night hours at participating locations.

To continue celebrating the Snack Wrap revival, McDonald’s has also launched SnackWrapFiles.com, a dedicated site featuring behind-the-scenes content, nostalgic fan posts that helped fuel the item’s return, and all the wrap intel fans could want — including media assets and an official FAQ.

In April, McDonald’s first teased the return of the Snack Wrap on X/Twitter. The mysterious post read, “0x.14.2025,” omitting the month.
